LISTEN TO IT #68: DON’T YOU MISS ME JUST A LITTLE BIT?

When one thinks of classic college radio staples, one thinks of Camper Van Beethoven.

Or at least I do.

CVB were big indie favorites in the late 80s, which peaked with a major label deal, a hit song (covering Status Quo’s “Pictures Of Matchstick Men”) and a messy break-up that ultimately gave the Alt-Rock format a reliable chart-topper in Cracker.

Anyway, the band got back together a couple of years ago and recorded a reunion album that I didn’t manage to hear, but music critics generally liked. And now they’re back with a new album for 2013, La Costa Perdita.

Here’s the first single.

As a fan of CVB in their heyday, I’m going to give the rest of the album a chance, even though the single, while okay, isn’t exactly up there with “Take The Skinheads Bowling” or "Where The Hell Is Bill?".

Time for you to come home,
