THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDERNUTS! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Here’s something I’ve been meaning to share with you for the last 12 years. The greatest snack name in Hong Kong:
Wah Yuen Thunder Nuts.

BACKGROUND: Wah Yuen is a local snack food company that’s been around for 50 years. They also do cookies, egg rolls, spring rolls, Chinese cakes, jerky, dried fruit, etc. I don’t personally endorse any of them (although the egg rolls are pretty good).
I first spotted the Thunder Nuts in the 7/11 downstairs from my office in Shek Tong Shui 12 years ago. In the grand tradition of the Great Procrastinators, I only got around to trying them yesterday. I tried the “crispy” version of the Thunder Nuts (crispy = deep fried), and within minutes felt woozy with regret.
Awesome name, though.
God of thunder nuts,
