I CAN HAS ROBOTS?

By order of Sir Arthur C Clarke [livejournal.com profile] dr_nebula :

I am:
Isaac Asimov
One of the most prolific writers in history, on any imaginable subject. Cared little for art but created lasting and memorable tales.

Which science fiction writer are you?

Which is fascinating because:

1. The last time I filled out this meme, I was declared to be Stanislaw Lem, who I’d never read, but have since and now like.

2. Just this evening, I stopped at Page One on the way home and, on a whim, because it was there, I bought a copy of The Gods Themselves. Uncanny!

FUN FACT: I haven’t read very much Asimov – just two Robot books (I, Robot and The Caves Of Steel). I enjoyed both, but typically the only other books I ever see on the shelves here are the Foundation books, which don’t really interest me. I’m not a huge fan of epic space operas as a rule. However, if any of you want to make a case for the Foundation series, go right ahead.

Anyway, not a bad result, although my current attempts to pound out science fiction bear about as much resemblance to Asimov as the average Dear Penthouse collection. That said, I do have a file full of notes for a story involving a rogue Pentagon concubine droid reprogrammed with the Shaw Brothers library and the first four Black Sabbath albums ...

And at least I get some epic sideburns.

Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space,

This is dF
