I really kind of like the guitar/drums/vox lineup... all it really means is that they've dumped the bass, and let's face it--most bands don't let the bass player do much anyway.
This song has no shortage of low-end, though, with tuned down guitars and baritone vocals. This doesn't sound like a White Stripes song, which I think is where it counts--I don't particularly care what the lineup looks like if the music is distinctive. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have the same instrumentation and they sound different again.
I notice that Deadboy and the Elephantmen (who I also quite like) are no longer a drum/guitar duo.
