UPDATE [via Wonkette]: Remember when Dana Perino said she didn’t know what the Cuban Missile Crisis was? Turns out it’s just her funny sense of humor, as she explained at a press briefing on Tuesday:

"It was a humorous show and I was exaggerating. Tell your host of your late-night show that.”

You probably missed that because she spent the same briefing saying that waterboarding is, like, totally legal.

Unless she was exaggerating again. This was also the same briefing where she announced that the president has nominated conservative journalist James Glassman for Karen Hughes’ old job of marketing Brand America to foreigners who somehow think we torture people even though we always say that as long as we’re doing it, whatever it is, it’s not torture, not even when we destroy the evidence, which is also legal ...

So, you know, she may actually be some kind of amazing avant garde performance artist.

Or maybe she’s just another Republican dingbat. It’s not always easy to tell.
