NICE PLANET. WE’LL TAKE IT.

And now, an image of Earth and the moon as seen from the surface of Mars.



This was taken last October by the HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and and has been on the NASA site since March, so you may have seen it already. I’ve only just seen it, and I find it strangely captivating. That’s us down there, etc.

Impressed, I am. With any luck, I’ll be able to move to Mars before I reach retirement age.

Right after we finish paying for a few  wars some neocon waterhead thought up while he was masturbating to Ann Coulter pictures, I mean. And that’s assuming they won’t all still be running 25 years from now. Ha ha.

the moon looks soooo close from that angle! it amazes me, when i see pictures like this, how BIG the universe really is!
