I CAN HAS $700 BILLYUN?

Since I’m not smart enough to write a scathing critique of America’s shiny new $700 billion bailout plan funded almost entirely by tax breaks (see what they did there?), you’ll have to settle for me diddling around with the LOLbuilder at PunditKitchen.

Here’s what I have so far:

Too obvious? Well, I only got five hours of sleep last night.

Anyway, whatever one thinks of the bailout, the real story is going to be what happens next. The $700 billion is just the start. It’s not a magick fix. The follow-through is what’s going to matter. And if Japan’s experience is any indication, it’s going to cost you a lot more than $700 billion.

Maybe. What do I know? I’m the guy who just posted an LOLpaulson picture. But I have five American dollars that says we haven’t heard the last of this.

Which, unfortunately, means I have to put up with grandstanding Congresscritters saying the words “Main Street” and “socialism” over and over and over as though they actually know what either of them means.

Money (that’s what I want),

Oh, hey ... can you ask Pakistan for my $10 billion back, please?

No.

The US Govt: We don't give refunds, but we do accept apologies.

Sometimes the obvious ones are the best.

I wonder if the Manchester United's jersey (sponsored by AIG) would change to "US Government" next season.

Japan experienced 10+ years of recession and waves of middle-aged salary men committing suicide. Buckle up for the ride.
