There are of course any number of factors to explain this, the reliability of web polls being at or near the top of the list – as well as the fact that Stewart spends the majority of his time making “real” TV news media look bad. (All part of his insidious Liberal plot to destroy America, no doubt.)

Also, I wonder how the results would have gone if they’d put, say, Olbermann, Maddow and Hannity on the list as well.

But in an era where TV news is watered-down infotainment and both the hardcore right and hardcore left are convinced that mainstream TV news is a mouthpiece for the other side, it might as well be true.

News to me,

This is dF

to laugh or to cry if you need to rely on a comedian (brilliant and funny as he is) to tell your the truth?

to be honest, I don't even think Jon Stewart should be on the list! :P

Yr right, the only reason he's there at all is because someone at Time wanted to test to see if it was true (as another poll said a few years ago) that more people trust Stewart for news than real newspeople, and they only selected The Big Three anchors because that was Cronkite's beat. I'd still like to see how the cable personalities rate -- I'll bet Fox News results would be scary.
