Christmas songs can come from unexpected quarters. You expect the average American Idol winner or diva to cut a Christmas single. Bob Dylan and Billy Idol, not so much. 

Or take Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth. He wrote a Christmas song ten years ago with Naoko Yamano of Shonen Knife.

And now we have a Christmas song with the lyric “All I want for Christmas is the freezing air / the sexual stare / forever thine”.
