BEER + DEAD ANIMALS = NOT FUNNY

ITEM: Brewdog releases a new novelty beer called The End Of History, which (1) is 55% alcohol by volume, (2) goes for $765 and (3) comes with a free dead animal wrapped around the bottle.

I might find this funny if they weren’t using real dead animals. I’m not particularly against taxidermy per se – and I’m informed all of the animals used are roadkill, so it’s not like they have cages of squirrels and stoats out back.

Still, I find this more creepy than funny. And given the cost, it doesn’t make me think any better of the kind of people who could afford it.

Let’s put it this way: I'm assuming Dick Cheney has ordered a case by now.

Say when,

This is dF

That... is horrible :(

Road kill...

This is the only way Cheney hunts, with a vehicle and the animal has to be real close (preferably fenced in) before he can even be bothered to get out and shoot at it.

And it doesn't matter if there are people in his line of sight.

I agree, that is horrid. Gah.

Poor squirrelaroni's.

On a side note, I go to this bar that has some taxidermy up in it and on the bar mantle there's a stuffed raccoon with its back humped up like it's about to buck and on top of it, there's a stuffed squirrel complete with cowboy hat riding that poor bastid like a rented mule.

I know it's totally anthropomorphizing it, but every time I see it, I can't help think that sad raccoon is looking at me sideways thinking "You think YOU got it bad. I have to spend eternity with a squirrel riding my ass."

Next time I'm in the bar, I'll snag a picture. It's pretty sad.

Uhm...no...Squirrel Bile Light might be Todd Palin's favorite beer, but...uhm...not for me.
