So National Opt-Out Day didn’t exactly go over, I hear.

No surprise, really. If I’ve learned anything from flying up to 12 times a year, it’s that most passengers, at the end of the day, care a lot more about making their flight than about challenging the right of security personnel to take nude pictures of them and feel them up. Flights are expensive, canceling flights is rarely a realistic option, and people don’t want to blow that kind of money for nothing.

Also, as I’ve said elsewhere, the TSA security drone is the wrong person to take yr protest to. They can’t do anything about it, and at least some of them aren’t all that happy about having to touch yr junk, either.

It’s also possible that the general failure of NOUD to cause any real trouble has probably unintentionally legitimized the TSA Intimacy process. John Pistole will probably be on TV soon (if he hasn’t been already) saying, “See? Americans are generally okay with these options.”

Which may or may not be true. I doubt the issue is going to go away anytime soon. But for now, this is what air travel in the US will be like.

At least until we move on to the next step:

That’s from 1972. And it’s from this collection of airport security gags.

Ha ha.

Don’t TSA me bro,
