defrogWe are Banäna Deäthmüffins. But as longtime fans know, we didn’t start out as Banäna Deäthmüffins.
Like a lot of bands, we went through several names before settling on the current one. Early favorites were Barefoot & Pregnant, Buckwheat & Radishes and Wet Riser.
Finally we settled on The Thundernuts – partly because hey, great name, and partly because we already had the theme song ready to go.
It didn’t start out as the theme song, of course. It was a song I wrote 15 years ago after coming across a package of Wah Yuen Thunder Nuts.
(I say I wrote it, but really the song more or less wrote itself. As you’ll gather if you bother to press Play.)
Unfortunately, as it turned out, Thundernuts was already taken as a band name. So we moved on, and eventually settled on Banäna Deäthmüffins.
But we still had the song.
And here it is.
