THE GREATEST ALBUMS EVER MADE (iPOD EDIT)

thewhyfive. This week’s topic: Top 5 Albums of All Time.
O Christ.
I always have trouble with music lists like this, because the music nerd side of my brain wants to be definitive, while the practical side knows that I don’t have that kind of free time. The secret, I’ve learned, is to bend the rules in a way that narrows the field. And so I give you:
1. Roky Erickson, I Think Of Demons
2. Blue Oyster Cult, Secret Treaties
3. Black Sabbath, The Mob Rules
4. The Smiths, The Queen Is Dead
5. They Might Be Giants, Flood
And even that’s non-definitive. But it’s all subjective anyway. If you ask the editors of Q magazine, for example, they’d put at least one album by Oasis, Blur and Radiohead. And maybe something by The Beatles or Led Zeppelin, just to keep it British.
Anyway, like Richard Nixon once said, “There’s no pleasing some people.”
