DEFCON DANCE PARTY PART 1: HERE IT COMES SLOWLY

Or, “The end is nigh, and THIS time we mean it.”

For those of you who missed the announcement, the world ends tomorrow (June 12). Yes, again. And this time it’s serious. If you can’t believe someone named Buffalo Bill Hawkins, who can you believe?

Anyway, seeing as how we’re all going to die tomorrow, I thought I’d help you all give the planet and each other a proper send-off – with a Interwebs playlist. And despite my disparaging comments about Imeem, I’m using them again. I’m still not crazy about it, but I still haven’t found anything better, and I’ve learned that it works okay if you use it with an open mind, pay attention to the song lengths (i.e. fuck 30-second samples) and don’t have any particular songs in mind.

So there’s no Clash or Bollock Brothers on here, but it’s not a bad little list. Enjoy.

I’ll post Part 2 tomorrow if we all survive. Personally, I’m pretty optimistic, given Buffalo Bill’s batting average to date (0 for 2). Then again, I am a child of the Cold War. Plus, I’m pretty sure one of the signs of the Apocalypse is a restaurant charging $175 for a hamburger that doesn’t even have any bacon on it.
