Might as well get this out of the way.

You are good at understanding people and finding the systems that work for them. You like having established reasoning behind your decisions. You consider it very important for your friends to always have your back.

At least I know I’ll have some shelf space reserved for my science fiction porn novels. Too bad print will will be dead by then, and the Dewey Decimal System rendered irrelevant.

ITEM: Osman Khan, a visiting assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon, designs a robotic sheep that mows your lawn.

The robot features GPS navigation, obstacle avoidance sensors and lawn-mowing teeth.

Probably not as fast or accurate as a John Deere riding mower, but it’ll give the neighborhood kids something new to vandalize.

Keep off the grass,

Speaking of robots ...

ITEM [via Warren Ellis]: The Department of Defense has put out a call: design a pack of robots to "search for and detect a non-cooperative human subject."

Each robot has to weigh 100 kilograms or less, act autonomously (with a human squad leader), negotiate obstacles, and provide immediate feedback. Here’s the fun part:

The robots would report back to a human operator, and defer to that human when the robot AI determines that a "difficult decision" is required.

Genius. What could possibly go wrong?
