The Catholic Girls were one of the unsung casualties of the 80s. Despite getting a deal with MCA Records, and playing pretty catchy power-pop, few stations were willing to play them, not least because of the name and the uniforms, which was pretty edgy for the early 1980s (and possibly even today – certainly Bill O’Reilly would probably do a segment on them).

Anyway, they’re still around, if you want to know more. Meanwhile, listen to this.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'd take credit for being hip enough to know about bands this obscure, but the truth is I'd never heard of them until that photo popped up on my Tumblr feed, and I checked to see if they were a real band. I'm glad I did.

Yesterday we featured a Frankenstein tune. Here’s another one.

In French.

I believe the title means, “My Husband Frankenstein”.

FUN FACT: Nicole Paquin was France’s first female rockinrolls star.
