Another one of those 45s I inherited from my 60s-obsessed friend: The Raiders (formerly known as Paul Revere And The Raiders) covering “Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian)”.

Which maybe sounds hokey by today’s standards, but in my impressionable teen years, it managed to make a far bigger impression on me regarding what Whitey did to Native Americans than any of the history classes I took.

WARNING: The preceding video contains poor-quality drum-synching.

DISCLAIMER: The timing of this installment in the “dEFROG On 45™” series and the news of Sarah Palin’s recent comments on the other Paul Revere is purely coincidental.

Well, okay, not really.

The jokes write themselves, though it’s only fair to point out that the generally accepted version of the Paul Revere story – i.e. the Longfellow poemisn’t historically accurate, either.

That said, Palin’s version is definitely the work of someone who found either History or English Literature class REALLY boring.

Or, quite possibly, someone who is smarter than all of you because she learned her history from studying Paul Revere’s personal correspondence.

Possibly.

Midnight rider,
