It’s “mid-March – where’s the new music posts?”
Well, they’re coming. But it seems 2012 is off to a slow start in terms of new music that interests me, despite the best efforts of
bedsitter23 to keep me hip.
In the meantime, as usual, I seem to be sticking to the old favorites.
Which brings us to Leonard Cohen’s new studio album.
It's his first in awhile, and it’s pretty much what you come to expect from Cohen – deceptively minimal synth-lounge and well-written self deprecatory lyrics (see headline) that pack more emotional punch than you’d expect from a guy who mumbles as much as sings (albeit wonderfully so).
