BBC UK only briefly mentioned it with no analysis.... maybe more on the BBC World version. but they did have a short special report a few days earlier about how that tiny Taiwanese island Jinmen now cares more about doing business with China. in any case, not a surprise result? Ma had always been popular even when he's only Taipei Governor and DPP was in power.
