His job is to make fun of the media. Which he wouldn’t be able to do if they didn’t do things like make light-hearted puns to intro a story about 30,000 dangerous pythons on the loose in Florida.

Looking forward to right-wing pundits accusing Stewart of failing to live up to his responsibilities by mocking carnivorous snake infestations and unfairly blaming Charlie Crist without offering a plausible alternative solution.
BONUS MATERIAL: In the interest or fairness, I should mention that NBC Universal has had their revenge on Stewart – by hiring Space Ghost to go back in time and put Stewart in the hot seat to see how HE likes it.
