I recently got into an argument with a right-wing nutcase who used the "CO2 can't be bad because we exhale it and plants live on it!" argument in defiance of Global Warming. At first, I thought he was joking. He said he was serious and when I stopped laughing, I was frightened by the knowledge that he's a college graduate.
After I explained to him that anything in large doses can be bad (even water, which if you get too much of it can lead to water intoxication and death), he just went off on a rant about cow fart taxation or something.
