ITEM: The latest numbers are in showing how many people have been killed to keep Iraq and America free.
As of April 23, 2009:
US military deaths: 4,276.
Iraqi civilian deaths: 110,600.
Difference: 106,324
Victory!
WARNING: Iraqi military deaths not included (because who bothers counting?).
FUN FACT: Around 79% of those civilian deaths have happened since 2005. It’s also believed to be a conservative estimate since thousands of people are still missing.
Some perspective:
Enjoy yr freedom! And yr weekend!
NOTE: Civilian casualty figures subject to change.

Some perspective:
In a nation of 29 million people, the deaths represent 0.38 percent of the population. Proportionally, that would be like the United States losing 1.2 million people to violence in the four-year period; about 17,000 people are murdered every year in the US.
