defrogre: The conservative freakout over Obama’s upcoming speech to the kids of America (also known as Obama’s Evil Plan To Indoctrinate Our Precious Ones With Godless Socialist Propaganda)
Bizarre but strangely predictable in the post-9/11 Kingdom Of Fear.
All I can add is that if Obama is going to talk to the young’ns, this is the speech he should make.
Or really, just about any speech from Howard Beale will do.
FACT: I watched Network again on DVD last weekend. Thirty-two years later, it’s still brilliant in its lyrically savage anger and cynicism. And it looks more prophetic than ever. I think it should be required viewing in every high school class in America.
