So naturally, the Senate Finance Committee killed the public option in the Baucus bill.
But they did approve Sen. Orrin Hatch’s amendment to provide $50 million a year exclusively for abstinence-only education. Because it works, says Hatch.
I think that about wraps it up for healthcare reform in America, don’t you? Not that anyone should be surprised. When Mitch McConnell admits that the Demos could give Repubs every concession they ask for and the GOP would still vote against it, that’s pretty much the ball game.
Of course, that wasn't supposed to matter with the Democrat super-majority that Republicans are afeared of.
Yeah, about that.
Well, Jon Stewart sums it up better than I ever could.
At this rate, I’m pretty convinced that any bill we see at the end of this – if we see one at all – is only going to benefit the insurance companies and the drug companies and the healthcare lobbyists, not the patients.
