Going through the Team Def 45 library, one thing that strikes me is how little I know about a lot of the bands whose songs I bought.
Take the Brothers Johnson, for example. They used to back the Supremes and Bobby Womack, and played with Quincy Jones, and had four #1 albums on the US R&B charts.
But all I knew about them was this one song.
But that’s how it goes. For whatever reason, some songs just don’t motivate you to investigate a given artist further, no matter how great the song is.
And this is a great song.
