And there never will be as long as Mick Cornett is mayor.

Cornett said Thursday "there are too many problems to list" and he will not let the LFL play in any city-owned venue.

The LBL – which had hoped to expand its franchise to OK City – responds, “Screw you guys, we don’t want to play in yr stupid city anyway”. But not before LFL spokesman Stephon McMillen points out the irony of Cornett objecting to lingerie models playing football in the Civic Center but not, say, exorcism rituals hosted by Satanic groups.

Which I have to say is an unfair comparison. I mean, Satanism is a religion (of sorts). Women in lingerie playing contact sports isn’t. (It OUGHT to be, mind. I’d join that church.)

But then LFL chairman Mitchell Mortaza compared OK City to North Korea, and LBL is nothing if not about comic exaggeration, so who am I to be critical?
