It’s that time of year again. And this holiday season, I thought I’d try something a little different: a countdown list representing the 12 Days Of Christmas.
Starting with the 12 drummers drumming.
Obviously there aren’t any songs about 12 drummers drumming. But we do have The Osmonds singing about drums as a metaphor for teenage masturbation.
Which is, you know, pretty impressive for Mormons.
Okay, it might really just be about drumming. But c’mon:
Tell me he’s just talking about percussion instruments.
FUN FACT: My sister was a big Osmonds fan when she was seven. I wasn’t very big on them (not even at nine years old), but I thought they had a few good songs. This was my favorite. And it’s probably as close as they ever got to glam rock.

When I feel the aggravation
When I feel the old frustrations
I go into my room and hit my drum
(hit it)
When I feel the time approaching
Deep inside a big explosion
I pickup my sticks (pickup my sticks) and hit my drum
