Like a lot of people my age, a lot of the 45s I grew up listening to weren’t mine – they were from the mommy and daddy’s record collection.
I’m not sure which one of them originally owned the 45 of this song from High Society.
Possibly the mommy – she’s a Cole Porter fan.
Anyway, I used to listen to this quite a bit, despite having never seen the film (which to this day I still haven’t seen). But I knew who Sinatra and Crosby were, and I liked watching old movies like the ones they used to make, so it appealed to me. Not that I understood have of what they were talking about.
Especially the part about being stoned. I thought they meant Old-Testament stoned. Which I found hilarious.
