I have a soft spot for Girlschool. All-girl rock bands were still a novelty when they came out, and they had to work hard to get respect from rawk fans in the UK, even with people like Lemmy in their corner. And they had to work even harder to get respect in the US (though to be fair, by the time they were ready to break the States, they were promoting the Running Wild album, which even the band admits today was "rubbish").
But despite all the line-up changes and the death of Kelly Johnson in 2007, they’re still the longest-running all-girl rock band ever. Respect.
