This was Runme Shaw’s idea of cashing in on the 1976 Hollywood remake of King Kong: a low-budget rip-off with a guy in a gorilla suit destroying Hong Kong Godzilla style, and a gratuitous sexy blonde jungle girl.
This is the better film of the two. Or at least a lot more fun.
DISCLAIMER: I should say we watched the Chinese-language version with subtitles, not the dubbed version you see here.
