In case yr interested, the model, Delores Erickson, is still alive and living in Longview, WA.
She recently appeared in Seattle at the 40th anniversary of used record shop Golden Oldies. The Seattle Times has a nice write-up of her career.

I like this kind of thing – not girls covered in whipped cream (well … okay, I do like that very much) but learning the stories behind iconic album covers.
And that cover is, of course, iconic. You know this because it’s been parodied by a number of artists.
Like so.
FUN FACT: I don’t listen to a lot of Herb Alpert these days, but I did when I was a kid. My mom had a few of his albums. I still have them somewhere.
