So, after millions of dollars and controversy over everything from privacy and accuracy to forged test results from the company that made the scanners, the TSA has finally given up on the idea of virtual nudity as a security measure.
Enhanced pat-downs will, of course, continue as scheduled.
Still, now that yr option to a friendly grope is being scanned with machines that produce the image above instead of a naked picture of you, I suspect more people will opt for that instead.
Will it make flying safer? Probably not. But it won’t make it any less safe than it already was.
