And their roster included Daniel Rey and future members of Monster Magnet.

In ‘The England Dreaming Tapes’, by Jon Savage, Legs McNeil says that Shrapnel was a response to Vietnam and he wanted the band to perform like characters, actors (that’s why they often dressed in army camouflage) and he also says that the band was a reaction to English groups, which he hated by then.
