But they were called Shrapnel. They formed in 1979 and lasted five years. Their producer was Legs McNeil of Punk magazine fame.
And their roster included Daniel Rey and future members of Monster Magnet.

In ‘The England Dreaming Tapes’, by Jon Savage, Legs McNeil says that Shrapnel was a response to Vietnam and he wanted the band to perform like characters, actors (that’s why they often dressed in army camouflage) and he also says that the band was a reaction to English groups, which he hated by then.
