YOU NEVER GIVE ME YR MONEY
Oct. 2nd, 2008 01:01 amYou may have noticed I haven’t been posting much about the $700 billion bailout. That’s because I’m not an economist. I know dick about economics. I barely understand it. And I couldn’t tell you if the bailout is really all that necessary or not.
However, the battle in Congress over the bill on both sides of the aisle has been sheer face/palm comedy from the start. And look, Jon Stewart has gone and saved me the trouble of having to write something funny and whip-smart yet genuinely angry.
Seriously, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen Stewart this riled. And why shouldn’t he be? The govt is about to hand $700 billion of tax money to a pack of stupid greedheads who will just fix their business, cash out their options and move on to the next big CEO salary package + bonuses. Tra-la-f***ing-la. Life is good when you don't have to account for yr actions, no matter how many people they hurt.
Little wonder no Congresscritter in his/her right mind wants their name on this bill a month before Election Day.
Best. Election. EVER.
Get it on credit,
This is dF
