HEAVY WEATHER 2008: HIGOS!

And welcome to the fifth typhoon to pop the top on a tall-boy can of Whoop-Ass® all over Hong Kong this year: Higos!

Seriously, in 12.5 years of residence, I have never seen this many typhoons draw a direct bead on us in one storm season. We must be setting a record of some kind.
Granted, I’m overselling this one. We’re at Standby Signal 1, but Higos is barely a Tropical Depression at the moment and isn’t forecast to be upgraded much higher than Tropical Storm. So really we’re just looking at a VERY rainy weekend.
Still, five direct hits in a year is one for the books.
FUN FACT: “Higos” is a Chamorro word for "Fig". Some sort of meteorological in-joke, then.
Blow away,
This is dF
