Now that I’ve had a decent meal, a pina colada and six hours of sleep, I think maybe my previous post was a little heavy.
To be sure, I’m still not crazy about hotel resorts. On the other hand, that shouldn’t reflect on Hawaii, which I know something about historically, if not what it’s like to actually live here, and – at least on the surface – it seems like a pretty cool place (at least compared to, say, Florida).
Besides, the Hilton Hawaiian Village does have a few good things going for it.
Like penguins.
That said, I’m not all that crazy about penguins being kept captive, either. It makes me think of a penguin penal colony.
On the other hand, penguins kick ass. So I’m conflicted there.
