ITEM [via [profile] lorilori]: Cops are worried about the latest trend in firearms: guns painted to look like toys.

Like so.

Is it not adorable?

The irony, of course, is that when I was in high school, the big police scare was toy guns that looked real. Now it’s real guns that look fake.

The other irony – according to the Jim of Jim’s Gun Supply who paints them on request – is that 75% of the orders come from the wives of cops so they can spend some quality time together at the shooting range.

Which is sweet.

Not sure who comprises the other 25%, but it’s probably not Ted Nugent.

Not that he’d be against gun-painting in principle. He might even order a camouflage-painted gun, if he doesn’t paint them himself.

As for whether it’s a good idea or not, all I can say is: If you want a nation of guns on demand, that’s exactly what you get. Deal with it.

FUN FACT: If I had to have a gun, I’d want the one Ted’s holding right there. And not the ones that look like actual guns – the acoustics would be too weird. I want one that looks just like Ted’s.

If Wal-mart is out of stock, I’ll settle for the Kane Roberts Flamethrower model.

Happy hunting,

What I enjoy more than the pink rifles is the instructions on the website to view the photos.

"Just click on a little picture to see the big picture."

The line on the bottom of the page is interestingly phrased as well:

"If you have arrived here with no form of navigation please click here to go to our home page."
