defrogThis week's rat entry [via Pink Tentacle]: Omocha-Bako Series, Dai-3-Wa: Ehon 1936 (Toy Box Series, Episode 3: Picture Book 1936), a 1934 Japanese propaganda cartoon about an island of peace-loving dolls and cats who are invaded by an army of evil Mickey Mouse clones riding bats.
Ironically, of course, Disney would later go on to inspire post-war manga. Still, I think we’ve all felt that way about Mickey Mouse sometimes.
