More evidence that 2008 is the Best Election Year Ever:

It’d be nice to think that there was some mass exodus from the GOP like rats fleeing a sinking ship. But remember when Rush said he wanted to help Hillary raise money because she’d be easier for McCain to beat?

Coincidence?

Not when it happens in Texas too. Allegedly.

The punchline, of course, is that the Ohio Repubs might have gotten away with it if they hadn’t written smart-ass comments in the margins on the form, like: "For one day only.” Still, some of them don’t seem to care who knows. "The Plot", they call it with a playful snigger.

I can’t say for sure the GOP officially approves, although it’s pretty well documented that during the Rove years, Karl ran the GOP the way Neil Bogart ran Casablanca Records: “Whatever it takes.” Still, this is what happens when you smilingly allow Fox News and people like Rush, Hannity, Beck, Coulter, O’Reilly, Malkin and Savage to be yr de facto mouthpiece.

Best. Election. EVER.

Swinging both ways,

This is dF, and I approve this message

Is there a really valid reason why republicans (or in general, most people, I've seen some numbers) think that it's easier to beat Hilary than Obama? Is it because they are more familiar with Hilary (more dirt to dig?) or Obama makes a bigger "contrast" to GOP?

Strangely... in UK, while most commenators still "hoping" a democrat to win back the Whitehouse, but quite a lot of them think McCain "ain't" too bad either. I guess Bush got everyone crying for "anything but".

From what I understand, she's more of a polarizing figure, and she basically gas a long enough voting record to attack, as well as that whole Clinton Legacy thing (you know, all those evil Whitewater deals and Indonesian investors and killing Vince Foster personally and crap). The potential downside is that most of her dirt was unearthed back when Bill was running, so none of it's really news to anyone. That said, she voted for a lot of the stuff she's running against now, so Obama is on slightly stronger ground (at least for the war). So I guess she's an enemy Republicans know how to deal with. Obama's a different creature from a younger generation and appeals to people who don't care about the usual demons.
