defrogDid anyone else notice that Mike Gravel has (1) taken his presidential bid to the Libertarians, and (2) is expressing his campaign platforms in the form of Beatles covers dubbed over gratuitously violent news footage?
There’s something grimly admirable about this. Not that it’ll get Gravel any closer to the White House. Which is too bad, since every Internet meme I’ve ever taken says he should be president. And Internet memes are never, ever wrong.
He hasn’t done himself any favors by throwing his lot in with the Libertarians, either, who are big on ideas but shoddy on execution. I should know – I’ve voted for them enough times. Having Gravel as their main man may not be enough to convince me to go third-party again, though. I’m still fascinated by the novelty of a possible Obama presidency.
I just wish Gravel had done more videos like this when he was still a Democrat. If he can bowl higher than 37, he’d have the nomination in the bag by now.
And no, I will NOT be including this in my Bad Cover Version series.
