Yes, the 3G iPhone is now available in Hong Kong as of this morning.

No, I’m not getting one.
Yes, I have tried one. Yes, it’s a wonderful piece of work.
No, it’s not worth standing in line in the rain for five hours just to find out when I get to the counter that they’ve sold them all. It wouldn’t be worth it if they still had some available by that time.
I’d explain further, but it’s far easier just to link to this. Everything you need to know is right there.
True love waits,

on 2008-07-11 06:51 pm (UTC)So 3 is the network in HK for iphone. 3 has a pretty bad reputation in UK, mostly because of its weak coverage - actually no one I know here uses 3! but I've heard it's quite OK in HK. In any case, i am quite surprised that it puts a cap on the data... it's a real put-off, I don't even use broadband provider who put a cap on download/upload limit here.
but granted, that plan which covers unlimited data is still cheaper than the one I am paying here in UK (£35 a month), and you need to sign up for a £70 plan to get a free phone.
in UK, it's not too bad, cos most other "contract phone plans" here will cost you at least £20 anyway and switching cost is much higher than in HK.
I think they might need a re-think for a market like HK. After the novelty wears off...
