THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR GO-GO DANCING

Apropos of little, except that my recent bikini essay got me thinking about the bikini/go-go genre. It’s a genre that really could only have existed in the 60s, when sexual freedom was still a new concept in American cinema. It was the equivalent of a giddy teenage boy seeing his hot next door neighbor sunbathing topless (albeit face-down) for the first time. You couldn’t make films like this anymore and get away with it. Well, maybe Mike Myers could. At first.
That’s what you think, baby,
This is dF
