Because whenever someone embeds a Hulu clip, this is what I see.



This is, of course, because NBC and Fox are afraid that if people outside the US watch their programming for free, we’ll steal it or something. Even though it's, like, free.

This is also why I haven’t seen Dr Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog yet, though Joss Whedon now has a version on the site that’s watchable anywhere. So that’s nice of him.

And sure, I could download it on iTunes – if only I had a US-based credit card. Ha ha. And don't get me started on FairPlay.

This is Internet TV? Not impressed.

Apparently Joss was not aware of the international problem with Hulu. When the sing-a-long debuted, all his non-US fans were in an uproar.

iTunes not international? Assholes.

I'm guessing that the fact that he can run an unblocked version of it means that the copyright owner can decide whether to block or unblock viewing outside the US. Which is yet more evidence that Big Media Companies just don't get this whole Internet thing.
