For the uninitiated, that’s the Spanish Inquisition scene from Mel Brooks’ History Of The World Part 1. Which popped into my head whilst writing a scene for the novel that reminded me of the Human Chess Gangbang segment from the same film.

I’m not going to explain that, no. Not yet.

Anyway, I’d be a much bigger fan of musicals if they were like this.

When I was in 7th grade, I watched this movie 100 times. It ranks as one of Brooks lesser movies for some reason, it's one of my faves of all time. For some reason, I can still sing the Spanish Inquisition from memory. And it's still f-ing funny.

Hitler on Ice and Jews in Space still make me fall out of my chair with the giggles.....

I saw it on HBO a lot. I would say the movie overall is flawed, but it does contain some of his funniest work. I think Spaceballs was the last really good thing he did, and it was all downhill from there. But let's face it, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles were always going to be hard to top.
