Edit: Comment stems from being curious about the layout of Hong Kong because I know so little about it. Are there places of getting "into nature" available?

Oh yeah, quite a lot, actually. You can go hiking in those mountains in the picture, and there's plenty more where that came from just on the island I live on (Lantau Island). Some of the other outlying islands are good for hiking, and in the New Territories (the bit of mainland between the Kowloon peninsula and Mainland China) there's several nature parks and preserves. There's also a wetland park close to the border that was opened for ecotourism purposes a few years ago. That's where we keep our famous alligator that ran around loose for half a year.
