DEMENTIA 13! PART 10: BURN THE WITCH

defrogWe are now down to the final four in our Halloween A/V countdown, and here’s a seasonal favorite of mine: “Witch Hunt” by Rush. With added big-budget Hollywood animation!
To be honest, I was hoping to find a version of the song mixed with footage from, say, Witchfinder General, or even the witch scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But whoever did this did a pretty good job of editing it to The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride (both of which I like) and Monster House (which I didn’t care for, but for mash-ups it’s fine).
Anyway, as Halloween-ish songs go, it doesn’t get much better than this – a song not only about historical witch hunts, but also modern-day witch hunts driven by the same old fears. Sadly, still relevant here in the 21st Century.
