STAR TREKKIN’: THE CHUD LIST
Jan. 8th, 2009 02:32 pmITEM [via Cat Taylor]: Devin Farachi of CHUD.com is celebrating the May 2009 release of the New Improved Star Trek film by reviewing every single episode of the original TV show and the seven feature films that involve members from the original cast.
He takes the piss, mostly. But with love. And he pretty much nails it.
Categories include: Kirkin' Out, Spockmarks, Redshirt, Dilithium Bullshit, Support Staff of the Week, Continerdity, and Set Phasers to Quote.
He’s up to Episode 8 already, so you don’t have that much catching up to do.
DISCLAIMER: I’m skeptical about the whole New Improved Star Trek thing. Part of it comes down to Hollywood’s general track record at this kind of thing, but it’s especially dangerous when mucking about with things that are so firmly engrained in pop culture. Imagine someone trying to remake Star Wars (other than George Lucas, I mean, and you just KNOW he’s going to try it one of these days).
But I’ll probably see it anyway out of morbid curiosity. And okay, sure, New, Improved Battlestar Galactica worked out fine. But then no one besides me remembers the original show anyway, so that’s different.
Been there done that,
This is dF

on 2009-01-08 11:29 am (UTC)I remember the original Battlestar! It had a robot dog in it. My Dad took me to see the movie at the cinema. That's about all I remember, except I thought the Cylons looked bad ass. I haven't watched the new version.
I hate STAR TREK. Old, new, I don't give a shit. They can do whatever they like to it, I ain't watching. In point of fact I hate pretty much all TV Space Operas except for FIREFLY, which is weird--I'm not any kind of Whedon fan.
