Yes, again.
It’s the annual drill – 14 hours in Economy Class in order to spend five days in buildings designed by Gaudi to cover the world’s biggest mobile telephones industry conference. Daily merciless deadlines and all the Sangria we can drink.
Sleep will not be on the agenda, I’m fairly sure, although I’m bringing melatonin this time, because I am an optimist. Which is funny, as I’m being forced to share a hotel room with my immediate supervisor again this year. I didn’t especially enjoy that last year. I expect a similar experience this year.
Anyway, they are likely to keep me busy enough that communiques here will be rare. Just as well, as there will be little in the way of sightseeing this year – very little time, and we’re staying in the same hotel, so there won’t be much new to show you – unless you’d like to see a photo of this year’s new Google phones.
I’m hoping I can spend the first half of Thursday kicking about, since my flight’s not til that evening. On the other hand, I’ll probably spend most of it in Fnac hunting for Europop. Because I have funny priorities.
