ITEM: Thousands of people in the UK are being stopped and searched by the police under their counter-terrorism powers for the sole reason of providing a racial balance in official statistics to “prove” they’re not just singling out brown people, the UK government's official anti-terror law watchdog has revealed.

No further comment necessary, is there?
